6 Point Steps in Starting
Public Event Evangelism
Is your Institution training men for ...
* Starting Churches?
* Reviving slipping Churches?
* Expanding thriving Churches?
As missionaries leave for the field
they will probably ...
* start a church
* take over a church
* come in as an assistant to a seasoned missionary
In all cases, their foremost concern will be
soul winning
* Personally involved
* Supporting congregational involvement
Many will experience difficulties
* Members do not know how to witness
* They tried it and felt it did not work
* Small towns soon run out of doors to knock on
* Local cults have ruined door to door work
* A large segment of the city has insulated itself from traditional
soul winning efforts
* Laws have been past to deter mission work
How do we help your Ministry?
* Have us address your departing Missionaries to show them the
possibilities and how we can help.
* Allow us to give your Evangelism Directors information on Soul
Winning at Public Events as another line-in-the-water.
How does Winning and Warning help your
Missionaries?
The Lord has given us insight and aptitude in a simple plan
which employs soul winning at public events.
At first, fairs, festivals and open
air markets might
seem like the most difficult place to win the lost. When if
fact they may be the easiest. They are certainly the most
abundant for opportunity and open hearts.
Some countries have made it
impossible to distribute tracts, street preach and other traditional
venues. We understand the difficulties. But where these
do not work, alternate venues may do well.
Some Missionaries have tried this type of
work in the past. We cannot say why they felt it did not work,
but our method has success when and where others do not.
When allowed, it has always been
fruitful. All of the first
century Christians realized the usefulness of public places and
gatherings of large crowds. Pentecost is the most obvious.
Attempting to make a case for soul
winning in any venue is superfluous. We are commanded to ...
"... be ready to every
good work." Titus 3:1
Evangelism is always
appropriate.
Using a good witness at public events is not the answer to
everything, but as you will see, it is an excellent tool. We
have used it, as well as every other type of soul winning, since 1979.

1. We begin with
a Contact
We look for a pastor or church planter who genuinely wants to
reach his local community. It is vital that HE wants to spread
the Gospel. We will come and work to train and employ the
church in public event evangelism, but unless the pastor or church
planter commits to the project, as soon as we leave, it all
collapses.

2. Training Shift
Leaders
One or several key people (pastor, assistant, deacon, teacher) are
trained as Shift Leaders.
They will use our
3+3+3=Seated method to greet, meet and seat
prospects in a Soul Winning Booth at counseling tables.
Shift
Leaders should be trained separate from the rest of the church. The method is
easily grasped in about 10-15 minutes. It takes the rest of an hour to
relate what-not-to-do and act out a few scenarios, very few.
Shift Leaders
do all the confrontation work. We have tried and proven, over
many years, 3 questions which eliminate ...
* Fear, FEAR (yes, we said it loudly)
* Memorized Rebuttals
* Lengthily Classroom Training
With our
method, the Shift Leader can quickly cut through the few objections in less
than 3 minutes and have the prospect seated in front of a
Worker and
well into the Gospel. This part usually sounds like it is
being minimized. In practice, it is the easiest to learn and
employ. Once observed in operation, everyone is shocked as to
its simplicity and effectiveness.
This part cannot be overstated. Greeting, Meeting and
Seating prospects is straightforward without complication, yet efficient in
finding seekers who are open to hearing the Gospel.
The only cure for doubt is to see it in action. Even when
demonstrated in a church auditorium, people doubt its effectiveness.

3. Training Workers
The Workers benefit the most.
They get to do most of the Witnessing. They do not confront any prospects. The
Shift Leader sends
them only prospects who have ASKED TO SEE how to be
saved.
What Christian would not want to witness to people asking to see it?
We spend a Sunday evening or mid-week service putting the
congregation at ease in their participation as Workers.
* They understand that there is
something for everyone
in the booth.
- Just handing out tracts
- Learning to witness
- Witnessing
- Greeting, Meeting and Seating prospects
* They understand there is no pressure to grow further, but almost all do.
* They understand their business is to witness, not convert. We encourage
them to take the prospect as far as they can, but however far they get, is far
enough. We plant and water, God gives the increase.
* They understand that a tract carries the message of the Word and that God does
not let His word return unto Him void.
* They understand how to retain prospect's name, address, phone, eMail and a
short testimony for follow-up. (we have 80-90% retention success)
* They understand God is going to use them to do "Big League" work.
* They understand the necessity of signing-up, committing to a schedule.
This keeps a large number from showing up all at the same time. With a
schedule, each comes on time and ready for their tour of duty.

How does this Help Build Churches?
* Members see there are still people who want to hear the
Gospel.
* Members become
- confident in their witness and testimony
- bold in their proclamation
- encouraged by the reception
* With new found
enthusiasm, members begin to talk to ...
- Relatives
- Neighbors
- Friends
- Workmates
- Schoolmates
The above contacts are the key ingredients for churches
- being started
- restarted
- expanded
* Members almost always do not want to wait until next year to do
this again. They can be encouraged to go to neighboring
communities every few months to keep the fires going and also make
an impact for Jesus Christ. Interestingly, many who are just
starting in soul winning would rather work in a neighboring
community because they feel they would not come across someone they
know. This makes a very fertile vineyard. Besides,
someone in the church may want to start a church in a that
neighboring town.

How does
this Help Start Churches?
With only a few events and parades the seed of the Word can be
sown deeply in nearby communities. A targeted town can be
primed for a start-up church.
* Fledging soul winners see the need and can be led to apply it to
neighboring communities
* They can be led as a group to public events in these communities
- Festivals can be used to sow the seed of the Word verbally and
textually in the neighboring community
- Parades can be used to get out 1000's of tracts
- Public Events of all types are excellent for meaningful contacts
for when hearts are open to receive
* Promising prospects can be used as a beginning for a new church
* Preacher Boys in the original church may provide a start-up or
interim pastor
* Fellowship preachers and College graduates may provide a permanent
pastor

Some have asked ...
"What method of Soul Winning does Winning and Warning use?"
If this work is done by local churches or churches from
neighboring communities, there is no need for Winning and Warning to do any soul winning.
We can take initial steps, and even help along the way as needed, as well as set
the pace for soul winning, but the witnessing should be done by local membership
in the manner the pastor in charge deems best. We best employ our
experience in training for the mechanics of the process. Once the church
sees how simple it is and easily set in motion, the members can be led to
blessed victories.
To answer your question,
"What soul winning method do we use?" it is
demonstrated on this web site at
How To Be Saved.
We use a "Pencil Power Point" to draw the Gospel in text and graphics. We
do not promote this type of presentation, since it takes much experience to
master.
We also have a
Witness Pamphlet. This method does not require any experience.
It can be picked up for the first time and read out loud to prospects
immediately allowing the Worker to spread the Gospel and gain experience right
away. After using the
Witness Pamphlet for a few times, most begin to formulate their own method
and gain expertise as they go. The
Witness Pamphlet takes the prospect ...
* through the plan of salvation
* to a suggested prayer
* to a warning for insincerity
* to assurance
* to the local church for further help

7. "The ball is
in your court"
What will you do with Jesus' message to the lost?
* eMail us with your
interest, questions and concerns. We can call back and discuss
them at length.
* Let's compare schedules
* Do not be concerned about available events, there is something
close by
* Booth fees at festivals are usually not expensive. They
range from free to $150. When planned ahead of time, even $200
can be found, when eternal souls are at stake.
* It is best if we can come to kick-off the program, but we also have
several ways to
commence, if schedules or distances do
not permit. Remember, we are looking for churches who may be
on-the-ropes, or have no ropes at all. We do not charge for
services, nor sell or rent products.
* When we come, prospects are ...
- found
- dealt with
- followed up
When we work with your members, they are ...
- encouraged
- given hands-on, lasting experience
- given confidence to go on and witness to family and friends in day to day life
Your people will be excited about being involved in soul winning and
the way God has used them to reach their community
* Read prospect testimonies from
other events
*
See
where other churches are involved. Their common trait is continuation. In other words, "once experienced,
they continue year after year."
If you are wondering what that "bouncing" sound is, it is the ball
that we have served to your court. Hit it back to us.
"Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee"
