New is not always good

I love the independent spirit
Any time a person fits a certain label, he or she loses their "mystique".  They become very predictable and there is little original or fresh about them.

Of course a person does not want to be completely whimsical, but everyone loves to be around those who are a little spontaneous and creative.

Nor is doctrine to be redefined with each free spirit.  But doctrine should be presented in new ways and with fresh ideas, especially as God works in individual hearts.  A person can be an individual and stay with the conventional without rushing to the contemporary (notice inside this word is the word temporary).

Label Free
Being without a label means you cannot be put in a corral with the herd.  The wise man said that the majority is always wrong, anyway.

There are certain labels which should be attached.  "Christian" is one.  But even then, I don't like being labeled a certain kind of Christian.  These categorized Christians always start out with good intentions and high hopes, but things change and many involved wish they were no long associated with some of the members.

I do like to be with crowds to interact, gaining and giving.  Not necessarily to join ALL of them.  Again, stay fresh.  I do believe in membership.  I am a member of a local church.

I do not like being labeled as an Independent.  This automatically files me in a folder with many who have abused the word or have no idea what it means.

I do fellowship with many who call themselves Independent and am very glad to be associated with them.  It is when we begin to label ourselves with adjectives in front of Christian or Independent that makes me nervous.

New is not always good
There are those who want something new in everything.  Could be a Big mistake.  I prefer to be slow to change, but I like to express the established point of view with new methods, expressions, analogies, etc.  Isn't this being Independent?
