Bibles for the Carnal Mind

Whether you realize it or not, the Bible is much more than a mere recording of historical events. This is the primary reason I have problems with many of the popular versions of the Bible today. The things of God written in the Bible cannot be understood by the carnal mind. This is why over and over the Bible speaks of “Faith”. Without faith it is impossible to please God because you have no other recourse than trying to understand the Bible with a carnal mind. Many claim the purpose of these recent Bibles is an effort to make them easier to read or understand. I totally agree with that 100%. Unfortunately, understanding the historical or physical events in the Bible will not result with eternal life with God. You can take the scriptures and “dumb-them-down” in any fashion you like to make the physical events or the “philosophy” found in the Bible understandable by the carnal mind. By doing so people then believe they have a cozy spot in heaven with God. This is the most treacherous deception that undermines the message of God since the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Satan can produce any kind of book that will be accepted as a Bible, the written Word of God, that can be understood by the carnal mind then it will not be necessary to renew the mind as it was originally before the fall. And if the mind is not renewed then there is no possibility of receiving the Truth of God. And without the Truth of God residing in your soul then there is nothing to reconcile with God; consequently, eternal life with God will not happen.

But this is nothing new, the Koran was written to correct God’s Inspired Message to the point that Christ is no longer the Son of God but only a great prophet. (Disclaimer: That is what I was told by a Muslim friend of mine. I have not read the Koran in its entirety. And yes, I do have friends with other religious beliefs. I hope they repent and come to Christ.)

None of us were there at the time the ancient Hebrew or Greek scrolls were written. I think it is a fair assessment to accept the notion there were several similar scrolls written based off of existing scrolls; much similar as today where we have various Bibles similar to the first English translated Bible. I also think it is a fair assessment to believe these similar scrolls were written for the same reasons, to correct any errors they may have thought were there and to make the message of God understandable by the carnal mind.

I find it truly amazing that Christian Leadership would accept a book as the Written Word of God or as a Bible knowing that it is written to be understood by the carnal mind.
