Victory through Faith

1 John 5:4  "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

Those Born Again into the family of God may be strengthened to overcome the world.  Faith in God is the key.

1 John 5:5  "Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God"

Those overcoming the world are the ones who are saved by believing that Jesus is the Son of God who came to take away the sin of the world.

Victory is the Sign
Saved individuals have a Victory available to them, which can overcome what ever the world sends their way.  When a person begins to be Victorious over the world, he or she knows they have been born again, saved.

The saved that attempt to overcome the world in the flesh, not in the Spirit, and fail time after time are the ones that don't have assurance of salvation, but saved none-the-less.
