Peace Indicates Eternal Security

Rom 5:1  "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"

Justification by faith brings a peace with God.

There is a difference between the peace of God and peace with God.
* Peace with God is when we are saved. 
* Peace of God is when we are in fellowship with Him after salvation.
  - It is possible for a saved person to be out of fellowship because of unconfessed sin. 
  - It is not possible for a saved person to be out of salvation.

Romans 5.1 deals with peace with God which we can know we have by the witness of the Holy Ghost.

The Scriptures say that God will not hear the prayer of the backslidden. 

Psa 66:18  "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:"

You are still saved, but since you are backslidden, God will not hear your prayer, expect the prayer of repentance to regain fellowship with Him.

1 John 5:10  "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son."

If you believe on Jesus, you have a witness within that you are saved and at Peace with God.

If you do not believe on Jesus, you are calling God a liar, because you do not believe God's record (Bible) of His Son and you do not have Peace with God.

If you believe on Jesus, you have Peace with God, but since believing, you have backslidden and now you do not have the Peace of God.

If God is continually dealing with you about sin after salvation, then feel confident that you are backslidden and out of fellowship with Him, and that you are saved because He does not deal with the lost in this manner.
