Assurance Can Be Lost
but not salvation

Up-Dated - Friday, April 04, 2014

Assurance of salvation may come and go and come again in the heart of believers.  But the opinion of the believer does not alter the work of God.  God cares not for the thoughts of men.  God does what He has said He will do.

Galatians 1:6  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ

It is possible to remove oneself from the Gospel of grace to another perverted Gospel.  This indeed would be sin.

But when this same person was saved by Jesus Christ, all of his sin's were forgiven, even this one.  Even though his assurance for eternal life has disappeared, that same eternal life has remained eternal.

Galatians 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

So, instead of sliding off into another Gospel, which is not a Gospel, stand without wavering.  Stand in the freedom of the broken bondage of the law.  Stand in the Liberty of assurance that Jesus was your Saviour before you knew Him.  He is your Saviour now.  He will be your Saviour through Everlasting Life.

Therefore assurance may come and go with the carelessness of its owner.  But salvation is kept by its owner, Jesus Christ.
