right) Festival - Clute, TX
Pastor Pettijohn and the members of First Baptist
Church in Clute, TX, know how to go about soul winning. Pastor had
us in the Sunday before the festival to let the members know …
* what to expect from the crowd
* what they will be doing (only relating salvation)
* how to do it
They signed-up for every slot on the schedule (even some who had
never witnessed before), showed up at their allotted time and had 66
make professions of faith. 16 others heard the Gospel, but did not
ask the Lord to save them. 11 received assurance of their
salvation. 800+ got a tract in their hand (we asked those who were
doing an excellent job of picking up trash if they had seen any of
our tracts on the ground - they had not seen a single one - for sure
there had to be at least a few, but for sure, not many). Everyone
was very excited about being able to use this event for real good in
their community. Those running the festival were very gracious to
all of us and encouraging.
Tom Tom Festival - Yoakum, TX
Denny and Roberta Wallace run this event every year and do a great
job. They had 8 ask the Lord to save them, 2 others hear and not
pray for salvation, while 250+ got a tract placed in their hand. If
this was repeated in every small town in any state, things would
change. Not just a promise by a politician, but real change.

Words for Soul Winners and Warners
Reaching Your Community
Who is reaching your community? Liberal churches?
Cults? At the very least the secularists are making in-roads.
Shouldn't your church be making a proactive assertion in the
community? Of course God wants to see everyone saved, but He is
looking at you and me to take the message.
He is not going to *… write it on the wall - *…send a lightning bolt
- *…strike anyone with salvation.
God is waiting on you and I to do something, anything, that he can
use to work in the hearts of your city.
Contact us and let us know you want to talk
about it, see what it takes to do a good job. In the mean time,
your people will be learning how to witness with hands-on
experience,
without confrontations, no classroom training and no
books and tapes to buy. "I never imagined it was this easy!"

Pat had an 11 year old boy come by the booth who saw the 3 doors and
wanted to know what "born again" meant. Since we don't seat
children 12 and under for a witness without their parent's
permission, Pat told him the story while he stood outside the
booth. He listened closely, the whole time tightly clutching one or
several dollars in his hand. She did not extend a prayer because of
his age (the one thing that can get us kicked out of an event
immediately is an irate parent). He left and in 10 minutes was back
with a picture he had won at a dart game. He showed Pat. It was a
picture whose likeness many assign to Jesus. You don't know what an
impact this had on us. He had gone to play this dart game with
dozens of pictures (Sponge Bob, Batman, Tweety Bird, etc) to win and
he chose Jesus. It is doubtful he had heard much about Him prior to
Pat's witness, but somehow and for some reason, he wanted THAT
picture. He was very proud of it and assumed we would be, also. He
then asked a question, we have never heard before (and we have heard
99.9% of them). He asked Pat, "Have you been into Jesus since you
were a kid?" It seemed that he was wanting to know if it was
possible that kids could be "into Jesus" or maybe wondering if he
was the only kid who was "into Jesus". Pat was stunned! No one had
ever asked that . She told him NO, but at the age of 28 she did get
into Jesus when she got saved. She talked and then he walked off
with his Jesus picture. The whole thing was so sweet and innocent;
we have talked about it for days. It seemed that somehow, God got a
hold of his imagination and gave him something that we cannot
comprehend. One thing for sure, even after people leave the booth,
the Spirit is still working.

Points
for Prayer and Praise
Pray that the Lord will continue to open doors for
churches to learn how to extend a public witness. We cannot be in
every event in our area, much less Texas or America. But we can
train churches to simply and easily do what we do. Not the witness
we use, but the method to get others to listen to the witness the
church uses.
