Potato Festival - Pearsall, TX
This event took place about an hour south of San Antonio. Bro.
Don Myers helped. He is an able soul winner and excellent in
Greeting, Meeting and Seating prospects.
Thanks also, to Pastor Hartsfield and his
people for coming out to help with the soul winning. They worked
the whole day Saturday. Got in a lot of experience. They care
about people and it shows.
We had 31 professions of faith, 12 received a
witness without making a profession and 4 received assurance. This
gave us a total of 47 people who were dealt with on a one-on-one
basis. 160 tracts were distributed. This is an amazingly low
number. It was not because people refused to take them but because
of the small number of people present. This may have been because
it was very hot. Maybe that does not describe it correctly. It was
so hot we were hovering around candles to cool off. It was so dry,
that when one lady fainted, we had to throw sand in her face to
bring her around. Well, maybe we exaggerate a little, but the crowd
was very thin. As a matter of fact it was so thin that you could
have shot a 30-30 rifle down the aisle in front of the booth and the
first thing it would have hit was the city limit sign in the next
town. Well, maybe it would have hit the lizard cooling down on the
steam pipe. You get the point.
We talked to one lady, a vendor, from Viet
Nam. She wanted to know what salvation was all about. She said, "I
am Buddhist, but I live in America now and I want to know about
Christians." She was very open. We took our time, went through the
Gospel with her. She did not get saved, but wanted to know more.
Since she lived in San Antonio, we called a preacher friend on the
spot, whose church was near her and left her contact info.
Bluebonnet Days, Kenedy, TX
Kenedy is about 61 miles south east of San Antonio. Bro. Denny
Wallace and his wife Roberta work this event every year. Bluebonnet
Days used to be a good size festival, but has slipped in recent
years. The ones that asked the Lord to save them, were glad the
booth was there, so we are going to try to stay with it. Sometimes
these local events hinge on civic volunteers and with a new group,
it may pick up.
The Lord gave us 8 professions of faith and
distributed about 150 tracts.

Follow-up in the Booth for Discipleship later
We try to introduce good prospects to the local church members,
especially the pastor. We usually say, "We can brag on this church,
because we are from out of town.. You will want to get started in a
church that cares about people and I can prove to you that this
church does. They are out here trying to tell people how to be
saved and if you really got the changed heart, just now, you know
how important this is. Go, see for yourself." The pastor almost
always is able to make this a good contact session. We also retain
name, address, phone, age, email and a short testimony. Where can
your church go to get this kind of experience? Call us for free
help.

Relieved
Relief, a universal expression for forgiveness of sin.
Rebecca 35
I and my kids ask to be saved.
It
is hard to believe for most that a mother and children will sit
in a public booth to hear the Gospel. It happens. Even the
whole family.
Dominique 12,
was with her parents
I talked to a boy who told me about God and how he will
always be there for me and that we said a prayer that came from
our hearts. Now we will go to heaven.
Another example of the whole family willing to sit in front of
an open Bible to see what it says.
Denise 21
Just prayed to God so I will get saved by him.
Denise knew she needed saving and now she
has her whole life ahead, should the Lord not come as soon as we
expect.
Bianca 16
An unbelievable feeling.
Bianca was an ideal listener. Dealt with by Bro. Myers.
Man and Son
- True Story!
Man: "I can't come to church, I work on Sundays",
"I don't have time", "There's not a church close by"
Son: "He can't come because he does dope."
