Fiesta - San Antonio, TX
From the very start, this 12 day event was an
apex of excitement. Even though we were required to move our booth
3 times (the second was at 11pm), the Lord found us each time and
sent literally 100's and 100's and 100's more by. Liberty Baptist
(Dwayne Nichols, Pastor) and Freedom Baptist (Anthony Lamb, Pastor),
both in San Antonio, split the cost of the space and alternated
days. Over 30 different workers participated in 118 five hour
shifts, putting in 100's of man hours. Vince and Randy worked the 3
doors entire shifts, sometime 12 hours.
The Lord gave us 1,142 professions of faith in
Jesus Christ, over 100 received a witness without making a
profession, at least 70 received assurance of salvation and 33,500
received a tract in their hand. On one occasion, 1-3 prospects were
at all 8 counseling tables, with another group standing and still
another sitting on the asphalt. "We were catchen'em faster than we
could string'em." Many more made professions on the street corners
around the carnival and along the parade route. Still have not got
a full count.
One of the churches had already Baptized 3
before the Festival ended. Both have had visitors, Drive-in and
Bus. There were many uplifting stories. Some of the workers could
have excitedly torn a Dallas phone book in half. Can't believe
there are still 11 months to go until next Fiesta.
Strawberry Festival - Poteet, TX
The
Lord helped us get back into this event this year. There were good
crowds and we worked at a fast pace. We saw 60 professions, 17
received a witness, 4 received assurance and 2,800 got a tract
placed directly in their hand. A family of 4 from Liberty Baptist
in San Antonio, came out to help on Saturday. Don Myers from
Heritage Baptist in Bulverde, was a good boost on Friday evening.
When churches help, more people are witnessed to and more make a
profession. This has been a good event, year after year.

Some ask, "How many of these people are really,
really getting
saved?" Only God has the answer and He knows the
exact number. He also knows the number who were
saved from the
tracts. Whether a large number or not, we are still required to
reach our respective communities with a witness. We are not
required to have large numbers
saved or Baptized or join the
church.
One other thing that each of us can do is
follow-up on the prospects. We can go by with a heart full of
Christ to reach rainy lives, rocky marriages and rebellious kids
(there's a sermon in there somewhere).
We start the process by
obtaining contact information on
Decision Cards, collecting their name, address, phone, age,
email and even a short
testimony. The local churches are given this information to go
by and see if they were really
saved, or maybe they need a Bible or
just a shoulder to cry on or a prayer to lift them up. There is not
a family on the planet who does not need more help with their
children. What a great way to begin in lives who have already
indicated their interest in spiritual things. Put out a witness.
Follow-up with a heart.

Testimonies
Frank 38
Felt a burden lifted off my shoulders.
How many
times have we heard this? I don't know if sin has calories, but it
definitely weighs too much
Eddie 18
I felt good accepting Jesus in my heart.
We
cannot always go by feelings, but no one can deny the
change that
God makes in our hearts.
Patrice 48
I got
saved.
Patrice
waited a long time to get
saved, but once she did it was like
starting a new life, even at 48.
April 29
I let God
save me and free me from my sins.
April
has it right. The Lord wants to
save us, we just need to let Him.
She also knew about the bondage of sin.
Juan 13
I was
saved and I was determined to let God in
my door.
The
world, the flesh and the devil fight against us or else why would it
take determination to let Jesus in? Juan fought the battle at 13
years.
Robert 17
I was
saved by calling upon Jesus Christ and in
return He gave me everlasting life.
When
we are truly
saved, the rest almost comes as a surprise, like
everlasting life did for Robert.

About
Please
pray for the Pain at the Pump. Every single soul is paying high gas
prices. No one is dodging this liquid bullet. The Lord knows and
has His ways other than just staying at home and letting the devil
run loose. Let's ask in behalf of ourselves and others. We need
wisdom with our diesel pickup: keep; sell; trade? Or, leave both
vehicles parked somewhere with the keys in them and on empty? That
may be cruel to the criminals.
