"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:26

Occasionally, someone will tell us that we are all children of God.  Our Promise for the Pilgrim this month tells us that all of God's children are such by Faith in Jesus Christ.  Of course, this drastically reduces the size of the family.

 * Victories in the Vineyard

Training Session Results

Last month we elaborated on the training session we had with Treasure Valley Baptist Church, Pastor Rick DiMichele, Meridian, Idaho (We spell out Idaho, because no one knows that the initials "ID" is for Idaho, IA is for Iowa.  This is a pet peeve)

This month we would like to recount some of the results the Lord gave at the Western Idaho Fair:

249 professions of faith in Jesus Christ - 78 received assurance - 345 received a witness, but made no profession - 152 signed up to work over a 10 day period - 5000 tracts were distributed.  A total of 672 personal contacts.

One man said he had possibly been making his approach too complicated and started using the 3 + 3 + 3 = Seated Method with good responses.  Another said he used the Method to effectively deal with the cults, being able to by pass endless conversations.

There were several who won people for the very first time.  Days later they were still excited.

We talked to 3 different people with the church and all said that the whole church was moved by what the Lord had done, even members who did not work in the booth, but recognized something had taken place and rejoiced.

I am going to ask this, but I already know the answer, "Wouldn't you like to have something like this at your church?"  Sure you would.  You can.  Give us a call, lets compare schedules.

One last statement, the comment that is most prevalent in situations like the above is this, "We like the idea of having people sent to us who are wanting to hear how to be saved and all we have to do is start right in and take them to Jesus."

Teton County Fair, Teton, ID

Bro. Scot Pahlman, Pastor of Teton Baptist Church, worked his local fair.  It was very small.  Only about 5000 in the whole county.  His church is just getting started, too.  They did not have anyone make a profession of faith, but they did get some tracts out and talked to some interested prospects.  The good part about this is Bro. Pahlman was not the least bit dispirited over the results.  

By the way, since he is trying to get his church up and going, he would appreciate any prayers in his behalf.  If you know of a good prospect in his area, let him know.  Some churches may be looking for a good man to support, who is deep in Morman Country and needs help over a period of time.

 * Words for Soul Winners and Warners

We must realize we are in the hardening and softening business.  We take the message and God does the hardening or softening obliging each individual as to their wishes.  Everyone is effected.  No one leaves the way they came.  They are either closer to Christ or further away.  This is great news to the soul winner.  Every Tract, every Witness does something to somebody.  Only God knows what happens in the hearts of men. 

While at a recent event, a man walked up and told Pat, "I got one of those (tracts) in San Antonio and I read it and I got saved."  This happens with more frequency than we relate in the Prayer Letter.

 * Terrific Testimonies

Guptal came into the booth with a parent. He wanted the Lord to "get into my heart". Sounds urgent to me.

Nettie                      68

Nettie did not write out her Testimony, but having a 68 year old lady sit down and listen to the Gospel, was a Testimony to the Pastor and the rest of us in the booth.

Stacy                        22

I learned that in order to live the after life with God, I have to ask for his forgiveness.

Stacy does not offer a Testimony, but does indicate knowledge of how to be saved.  We do not know how many are saved after they leave.  We plant and others water, God gives the increase.

Amanda                   14

I asked the Lord in my heart today and afterwards it felt really good.  I also asked Him to forgive me for all my sins.

Amanda seemed to want the Lord even more than forgiveness.  She didn't seem to want the fire insurance as much as the Fireman.

 * Points for Prayer and Praise

Praise the Lord for handling our Trailer situation.
Praise the Lord for a expanded vision for the ministry.

Pray for our support. 
* Expenses have risen sharply
* There is more that needs to be done
Pray for our health, support, preaching meetings, training meetings, safety, booth fees, tract costs, open hearts and spirit guidance.

Do not write our name on the check, indicate on a separate slip, for whom it is intended.  Pastor Haveman personally handles the mission accounts. We receive 100% of all that is sent to our account. 
Our support is ever increasing, but our vision for Soul Winning at Public Events is ever expanding.  There is always much more that can be done.  If we report that we are fully supported, mark us down as having lost our vision and the guidance of the Spirit.
