Promises for the Pilgrim Gal 5:16
"Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the
flesh" Hello from the Highways Thanks for catching up on our news. Thank the Lord we did not have to drive a lot of miles in March. Our trailer is showing its age and miles, so the break was welcome. The phone has been busy with calls coming in. For this kind of ministry, in-coming calls are rare, but March was very productive. Calls from churches looking for help in starting or furthering their Public Event Ministry (Fairs - Festivals - Flea Markets - etc.). Fundamental Churches realize that the way to growth is through the Saints winning and warning the Lost with a clear and thorough witness and a tract which people will - Receive - Read - Retain. If your church is going to expand its outreach with tracts and soul winning, call or send an eMail so we can schedule a meeting to present the work or a training session to get started. Evangelism does not just happen. God's people have to go after the lost with a good plan. Our plan is … * Simple in structure * Easily put into motion * Proven over years in a variety of places with 1000's of people * Available today. Call or eMail for some answers. Prayer Request Remember that the need for booth fees and tracts is constant. Since the Mission has expanded internationally, funds are soaked up as fast as they come in. The bright side reveals that money is not going into a "Black Hole". People are hearing the Gospel everywhere we go and everywhere around the world. If you are not in the midst of the battle, JOIN in. If you are already in, encourage others to do the same. Jesus is worth every word fitly spoken or written of His love for the lost. "And
they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the
seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" Rev 5.9 Words for Soul Winners & Warners Occasionally we hear comments like the following, "We recognize that the best people to talk to are those with an open heart". So where can we find hearts that are receptive to the Gospel? "Go to your local Fair or Festival or Flea Market". Every type of person in your community will be there. Best of all, they have arrived with an attitude of "Show me something new or interesting or functionable (not in the dictionary, but should be) in my life". Most are not aware that salvation is even available, so, do not come looking for it, but come looking for something to fill the hole in their life. Your church can be there to share a tract, a witness, a prayer (most would be shocked to hear of the numbers who stop and ask just for a prayer), or just a kind word. If you have never worked a public event, then for certain you will be jolted with the number who will stop, sit, listen and respond. Since their hearts are open, they are going to take something in: from the arts and crafts, or from the carnival, or from the rodeo, or from the fortune teller (yes, they are coming in larger numbers all the time), or from the politicians (fortuneLESS teller), and so on. Why not give them the Gospel: * in a kind manner * in a comfortable setting * in a non-obtrusive delivery? Victories in the Vineyard Salsa Festival, Three Rivers, TX This was our second year at this Festival. There was no carnival nor parade, but people turned out in good numbers to taste test the Salsa. We didn't try any, but we fed the devil some Hot Stuff. The war has not yet been won, but at least 11 battles were waged and the Lord got His way. Others were witnessed to, but did not make a profession of faith. 440 tracts were distributed, too. Who knows where these tracts will end up. We do know less than 10 were seen on the ground. One older teenager, who was saved last year, brought a friend to hear the Gospel. The friend was willing to sit and listen because of the encouragement from the saved girl. This is the way it always is, no matter the setting. When the prospect knows a person who will "stand by" with them, the response is much more favorable. This is best demonstrated at Public Events, where many attend in pairs or more. A couple (38 & 42 years) made a profession. As we spoke the lady indicated she wanted the scriptures we had just read to them and in the proper sequence. We said we would do our best to get her a Marked New Testament. Since then arrangements have been made. We used to carry all kinds of literature with us, but it became so difficult to store in our trailer, we have resorted to asking the follow-up church to drop off whatever is needed, giving the church a good excuse to go by, introduce themselves and discover if they really are saved. Sadly, not everyone who prays, gets saved. Steve is a good example. The first time he prayed, he did not mean it but was saved the next Sunday, 1976. Terrific Testimonies The following gleanings came from the back of Decision Cards of those making a profession of faith or receiving assurance. Jake 46 I asked the Lord to save me. Manuela 40 I was saved. Chris 21 Been born again and helped out by a wonderful person. Chris immediately went to tell his mother who had the booth next to ours. Roxann 19 I GOT SAVED. (she wrote this in large letters) Teen (name and age has been misplaced, but God knows) Brought his family by the day after he had made a profession of faith. He had told his mother about the 3 Things God Cannot Do and she wanted to see what they were. She apologized when she saw the answers and thanked us for what we had done with her son. Setina 14 I was saved and I have received forgiveness. I felt a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Points for Prayer and Praise Please Pray for 2007 Pray that we will be able to obtain a ticket (Pat cannot do international travel) to go train "National" Missionaries who have the vision for reaching the people of their country. 50 Events this year 125,000 tracts distributed 2500 Professions Highway Safety Preaching Meetings New Working Couples TX, LA, OK Booth Training Videos Support - Booth Fees Tracts, $27 K Living / Travel Exp. Pastor Haveman personally handles the mission accounts. Our support is ever increasing, but our
vision for Soul Winning at Public Events is ever expanding. There is
always much more that can be done. If we report that we are fully
supported, mark us down as having lost our vision and the guidance of the
Spirit. |
