ó Promises for the Pilgrim "But
when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the
Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of
me:" John 15:26 Hello from the Highways Thank you for taking the time to read through this letter. October was one of the busiest months we have had, to date. We spent almost 4 weeks in Waxahatchie, TX, at the Harvest Baptist Church, Pastor Paul Shearin and his congregation. We were there for the Texas State Fair in Dallas (more about this later). 4 other missionary couples were to work with us, but God had other plans. One couple had to cancel due to very tragic news. The church had committed to help so Pat and I jumped in to get started. The problem is that this fair is 24 days long and every work-day is 12 hours (10 to 10) long. The day before we started, a couple from a nearby town knocked on our door and said they had heard about the mission's work and wanted to know more. After painting them with about 5 coats of AGM paint, Bob and Lou Blanton were wanting to help. We had to tough it for 3 of the first 4 days, then the Blantons were free to pitch in and Mrs. Shearin (Lisa, pastor's wife). Thank the Lord for His mercy in this situation. The church and the Blantons were God sent, prepared and empowered. Many days Mrs. Shearin with helpers from the church worked from 10 to 1, then Pat and I split the rest of the day with Bob and Lou. On days the church was not able to help, we split the 12 hours with our newly found partners. Everyone's attitude was tremendous. Not what each wanted to do, but "What needs to be done?" Pastor Shearin brought several of his men and his son to get some high volume soul winning experience. They were a great encouragement to us and faithful workers for Christ. Words for Soul Winners and Warners Looking for an area of life to start a ministry? If it is soul winning, just start anywhere. No need to look for a call to be a soul winner or warner. Everyone is called to this work. No need to wait for God's leading as to where to spread the Gospel. Every place is appropriate and needy. If you want to maximize your efforts, give us a call. Fairs, Festivals and Open Air Markets are ideal for getting out 100's of tracts and the seed of the Word can be planted and watered in dozens of hearts in the area in which you live. We are praying for the Lord of the harvest to send us laborers. Are you the answer to our prayer? Victories in the Vineyard - a few of the Highlights Texas State Fair, Dallas, TX Too much took place for us to relate all the wonderful things the Lord accomplished. We will attempt to tell you about a few. God gave us 312 professions of faith. At least 48 received assurance of salvation. 75 sat down and listened to a complete witness, but did not pray. The fair was 288 hours long where 632 man-hours were spent in the booth. 42,000 + tracts were distributed. We have no idea how many the Lord saved from those printed helpers. Our booth location was much better this year and the tent the booth was in was in a much better place. The traffic at times was too good. The press of the people hindered many from stopping as they pushed each other past. A lady in another booth, came over and asked Mrs. Blanton how to be saved. She was and even came and helped in the booth later on. Another came and asked Steve for some help. She sat and listened to the Gospel and prayed. As we finished she was told that the proof of salvation is the "new heart" and the new heart is proved by the desire to tell other something like, "I am saved", "I have been for given", "I know for sure I am going to heaven" and so on. She smiled knowingly. Later she brought her mother to hear the Gospel and even furnished the translating. So all in one day, she went from being lost, to saved, to becoming an "Andrew", then to an interpreter. A saved mother brought 2 of her children to the booth as she told them to sit down and hear how to be saved. She sat with them and confirmed every word. She confided that she was saved, but did not know how to tell her children. The stories go on and on. These things are not unique to Dallas, TX. They go on at almost every event in America and the world. What are you missing at your local events? The November Prayer Letter will have news on other events going on in October and November. Too much for one letter. Terrific Testimonies The following gleanings came from the back of Decision Cards of those making a profession of faith or receiving assurance. Maricela 21 Steve, a guy that I met was talking to me about God. I felt really cool when he said the last sentence. I was born again. And that I am saved and am going to heaven. She was with some friends who also made professions of faith, but Maricela really got a good dose. Hector 50 He came with his wife and daughter and granddaughter. After he prayed and finished the Decision Card, he asked, "Tell me one more time how all my sins are forgiven". Later that day, as we were leaving, he saw us and shouted above the roar of the crowd, "I'm saved, I'm saved." Leonard 36 New Person Christiana 18 I received God, ask to be forgiven of my sins and believed that I need Him. Jason 18 The first time I have actually prayed in years. Because Jesus died for my sins and that I am grateful. Jason's mother came by twice to get him to leave. She said, "We have our own church". But Jason stayed and got what he needed. Amanda 20 I opened my heart to Jesus and in return He gave me eternal life. Jose 20 I was saved and reborn, thanks to you Bob. Points for Prayer and Praise Another new couple may come to work with us in the Dallas area. Another answer to prayer. This is the 5th in the last few months. We pray each is able to work out the particulars and get started by next spring. Now we need the funds for booth fees and tracts. They will need the funds for gasoline. Some for living expenses. These are exciting times. Are you on-board?
