Promises for the Pilgrim "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God" Hebrews 11.10 Hello from the Highways Thanks again for receiving this letter and allowing it to take-up part of your busy day. And thank you for taking the time to call or write and encourage us. This letter is for March and April. Every year we try to use several months to just preach in the churches and March is one of them. We feel this is a large part of our ministry because churches everywhere need the exhortation and sometimes the admonition to leave the comfort of their church building and church fellowship to take the Gospel to the lost. We cannot always win the lost, but we can always plant the seed of salvation or water it. Often times, the churches for whom we preach, say, in 2006, are the churches with whom we work public events in 2007. Also, while being with a congregation on Sunday morning or Sunday evening or Wednesday evening, we can answer some questions they have about evangelization, etc. There is so much being written and preached these days about salvation and how it should be taken to the lost, that there is some confusion. We do not attempt to correct anyone, we simply tell folks what we are doing and how God is working and how they can see the same blessings. Words for Soul Winners and Warners “I can do that” While at the Strawberry Festival in Poteet, TX (Poteet is a town of about 3,000 that swells to about 60,000 to 70,000 for the festival every year) we were helping Victory Baptist Church of Somerset. They have obtained the booth for us to use the last 4 years. Tony Repreza is their lead soul winner and he told us that while working with us at this same festival a year ago, he thought to himself, “I can do that”. And he did. After the 2005 festival, he got a booth at a local flea market and began his tract and soul-winning ministry. Since May of 2005, the Lord has given him over 700 professions. Last November we presented our work to Faith Baptist Church in San Antonio. They said they would like to do that, too. This past March we were at a Camp Meeting with them and on Sunday afternoon, the first day of the meeting, Pastor Martin wanted to take some folks down to the flea market. The Lord gave us 10 professions of faith and we distributed 300+ tracts. We were there from 1:30 to 5 and had 3 groups of 4 each take turns. There were 8-10 who sat down and heard the plan of salvation, but did not make a profession. Couldn’t you and your church say, “I can do that”? Call us and see if we can schedule a time to come help. “All things work together for good” While at the Salsa Festival in Three Rivers, TX, we were witnessing to a man who had sat down at one of our counseling tables. He was holding back a little and was not sure about making any commitments. Since we are not “arm twisters”, we were only going to present the Gospel and leave things as they fall. Well, just as we got to the part where we had asked if he wanted to pray to ask the Lord to save him, we paused. During that pause a singing group across the way was singing a Gospel song and clearly over the speakers came these words, “Trust Jesus as your Saviour”. The man heard it plainly looked up at me with wide eyes and anxiously agreed that he wanted to pray. God knows how to use everything, with perfect timing, to accomplish His mission. This is one thing we like about the small public events, they can still sing the music they learned in church and there are still people who recognize it and appreciate it. Off and running Dennis and Roberta Wallace started their season with the Bluebonnet Days in Kenedy, TX. They had 16 professions and gave out about 1209 tracts. This is really something, since the parade was not over until almost noon and the crowd was gone by 3:30. Since they can only work on Saturdays and need to be close by, we have tried to find events, which fit these criteria. This year they will attempt about 15+ festivals. Pray for them, they are a vital part of this ministry and the work for Christ. Flea Market San Antonio Faith Baptist held their 1st Camp Meeting. Pastor Martin asked if we could take some members to the Flea Market Sunday afternoon, the 1st day of the meeting, to get a good start. 10 professions were received in lest than 4 hours. One lady came every night of the meeting and several day sessions. Helped with the cooking and clean up, too. Terrific Testimonies The following gleanings came from the back of Decision Cards of those making a profession of faith or receiving assurance. Amber 14 I just opened up my heart for Jesus to give me eternal life and say that I was sorry for his dying for us. I thank him so much. Brandi 11 (with her mother) I feel better and relieved and more safe that God and Jesus are with me now. Alexandria 17 I was just saved and received the proof of heaven and eternal life. Jasmine 15 Today, right now, I have asked God to forgive me for all my sins. And he has. I have accepted Him to be my Saviour. He has my name, Jasmine, in the book of eternal life. Daniel 21 I was saved. Jerret 20 I was saved. I was lead through an explanation then a prayer to be saved. Heather 31 Steve explained to me that Jesus, God’s Son, paid for all of my sin, 2000 years ago and that all I have to do is accept Him as my Saviour and I will go to heaven. I got it! Christopher 19 I just realized what it takes to go to heaven. And more importantly that I must accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Points for Prayer and Praise Pray for the Mission We need more workers to work full time or part time. Some to work within a few hours of home and possibly just on Saturdays. A travel trailer is not necessary. Let us know of your willingness, the Lord will provide an opportunity because He is very interested in seeing the lost reached with the Gospel. Hands on training. Rewards are eternal.
