I'm
Saved.
What's Next?
Short Explanation
Jesus Christ is the start and the finish and
everything in between.
* He is the Saviour up front.
* He is the Burden Bearer and Comforter during this life.
* He is the Eternal Life after death.
The following series of pages assumes that you
already know Jesus as your personal Saviour. Then they pick up
with your life with Him on this earth. This will get you
started. You must seek out a church to go further. See:
How to find a good church.
Jesus Christ is the Foundation
Lay the right foundation, then build on it.
1 Cor 3:11 "For other foundation can no man
lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
Every good endeavor of life must be done on top of
Jesus Christ. He is the foundation. We must build on
Him.
1 Cor 3:12 "Now if any man build upon this
foundation, gold, silver, precious stones , wood, hay, stubble;"
Gold, silver and precious stones are the good things
done in this life for the right reasons. Wood, hay and stubble
are the good things done in this life for the wrong reasons.
1 Cor 3:13 "Every man's work shall be made
manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed
by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it
is."
This is not a punishing fire, but a refining one.
Our good and bad intentions will be revealed. To purify gold,
it must be heated and the impurities will be burned away. Once
all the impurities are gone, everyone will easily see what sort of
life we led. If a person was
saved, they will go to heaven,
but if after salvation, their building on Jesus was for the wrong
intentions, all that could have been rewarded them, will be burned
away.
1 Cor 3:14 "If any man's work abide which he
hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward ."
1 Cor 3:15 "If any man's work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be
saved; yet so
as by fire."
Work for Jesus in this life. But work for the
right intentions.
A person can give to the poor (Good Deed) and say it was for love of
Jesus, but in fact it was to lift up themselves, somehow. That
good deed becomes wood, hay and stubble and will not survive the
purifying fire. Something that could have brought reward in
heaven, is now lost forever. Still
saved, but the reward is
gone.
