"Is this possible?"
We do not use this wording
"Once
saved, always
saved" is
not the wording of the Bible. We say it a little different, using
Bible terminology.
"… the gift of God is eternal life …"
"… everlasting life …"
Simply, it is life through out eternity. Once a
person receives eternal life, by its name or very nature, that
person shall always have life, because it is eternal.
If a person received eternal life and that very day
or 50 years later, did something very sinful, that person would
still have eternal life. He or she would certainly feel like they
did not have it any more, nor even deserve it, because of their
backslidden condition. Never the less, if it was eternal life to
start with, it is still eternal and shall be eternal through out
eternity.

"But what if I sin?"
You shall sin.
It is not a question of if, or
even when. If you are living and breathing and conscious, you are
diligently at work sinning as fast as you can. The best of us and
the worst are up to our neck in faithlessness. There is barely a
hair's breadth of difference between the murderer and the
philanthropist.
The question is not about sin, it is about
forgiveness.
If you have been
saved, you were
saved from what? Sin! of course. And if truly
saved from sin, then
what difference does it make to your salvation, if you have sinned
since then? You sin has been forgiven. And if forgiven, you are
experiencing eternal life.
Contrarily
It does make a difference in your fellowship with God as to
whether or not you sin. Once a person is
saved, heaven is assured,
but fellowship with God is in constant jeopardy. The means to a
return to fellowship is in confession and repentance of sin. But
this is not the path to return to eternal life. If you ever receive
eternal life, you will eternally have it, regardless of fellowship.

"What is
Fellowship?"
Fellowship is your walk with God.
If you are walking with Him,
you are in fellowship and He is very active in your life.
1 John 1:5 "This then is the message which we
have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in
him is no darkness at all."
1 John 1:6 "If we say that we have fellowship
with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"
1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he
is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood
of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness."
If you are living
in sin and never turning from it, then God is remote and only works
in your life to the point of bringing you back to fellowship.
Ps 66:18 "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the
Lord will not hear me"
The Heavenly Father is like any other father.
When you are actively
rebellious, he will not talk to you or listen to your pleas. He is
only listening for and working towards your repentance and a return
to a walk with Him.
